About the role:

 

You will lead the financial management of our R&D initiatives, ensuring accurate and transparent reporting. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, providing strategic financial guidance to support decision-making. This role requires a seasoned accounting professional with a deep understanding of the unique financial challenges associated with R&D projects.

Responsibilities:

1.        Financial Leadership:

         Provide strategic financial leadership for R&D initiatives, collaborating with R&D teams to align financial goals with project objectives.

         Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls tailored to the dynamic nature of research and development activities.

2.        Budgeting and Forecasting:

         Lead the R&D budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with R&D leaders to develop accurate and realistic financial plans.

         Monitor budget performance and provide regular variance analysis, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.

3.        Financial Reporting:

         Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements for R&D projects, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

         Provide timely and accurate financial reports to key stakeholders, offering insights and recommendations.

4.        Cost Accounting:

         Implement effective cost accounting methodologies to track and allocate expenses associated with R&D projects.

         Analyze cost structures to identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.

5.        Compliance and Risk Management:

         Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements specific to R&D activities.

         Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with R&D projects, implementing proactive measures to safeguard financial assets.

6.        Collaboration:

         Work collaboratively with R&D teams, providing financial guidance and fostering a strong financial acumen within the R&D community.

         Collaborate with other departments such as legal, procurement, and project management to streamline financial processes.

 

About you:

 

         Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or relevant professional certification preferred.

         Proven experience as a Chief Accountant or similar role with a focus on Research and Development accounting.

         In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and cost accounting methodologies.

         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

         Familiarity with ERP systems and proficiency in financial software.
