Position Summary
The Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of electrical and control systems supporting manufacturing operations. This role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability, process stability, and overall production efficiency in a high-precision, quality-driven environment.
Operating within a technically advanced manufacturing setting, the Electrical Technician supports both production equipment and facility electrical infrastructure, with a strong focus on minimizing downtime and maintaining system performance. The role requires hands-on expertise in PLC-controlled systems, industrial automation, and electrical diagnostics, along with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality.
In addition to reactive support, the Electrical Technician plays a key role in preventative maintenance programs, equipment upgrades, and the successful integration of new manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate brings a disciplined approach to safety, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and control system issues on manufacturing equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to production
- Support the installation, startup, validation, and commissioning of new equipment and automation systems
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLCs, HMIs, electrical panels, motors, drives, sensors, breakers, and control components
- Read, interpret, create, and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Execute and document preventative maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and longevity
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and implement process improvements
- Maintain and manage inventory of electrical components, spare parts, and critical supplies
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash protocols, and applicable OSHA requirements
- Support electrical systems in cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments, adhering to contamination control standards
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives focused on uptime, yield, and equipment performance
- Provide flexible support, including off-shift or on-call coverage as required to maintain production continuity
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting PLC-based control systems
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, including motors, drives, relays, and control components
- Solid understanding of electrical safety standards and practices, including LOTO and Arc Flash
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cleanroom manufacturing environments
- Experience with the Opto 22 platform or similar industrial control systems
- Exposure to automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, or advanced process systems
- Experience supporting new equipment installation and commissioning activities
Technical Skills
- PLC programming and troubleshooting (ladder logic and control logic)
- Electrical diagnostics and root cause analysis
- Schematic creation and revision control

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for documentation and reporting
