Mission 
At NVLS, we design and manufacture advanced optoelectronic and night vision systems for defence and security applications. The Senior Import & Export Specialist is responsible for ensuring full compliance with national and international export control and trade compliance regulations governing defence and dual-use products. The role supports the business by managing licensing activities, assessing export control risks, maintaining regulatory compliance, and acting as a key interface with regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders. The position plays a critical role in enabling international business activities while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, including Spanish, French, European Union and US export control frameworks.
NVLS has been recently acquired by Exosens, world leader in production of image intensifier tubes, with a global market share of 80%+.
 
 Key responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with national and international export control regulations applicable to defence and dual-use products, including Spanish, French, EU and US regulations (ITAR/EAR).
  • Manage export control operational activities, including licence administration, end-user verification, re-export requests and regulatory compliance reviews through dedicated systems such as SIGALE and EGIDE.
  • Prepare, submit and monitor export licence applications and regulatory authorisations with the relevant authorities, including JIMDDU, DGA, DGE and other competent bodies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory authorities regarding export control matters and licensing activities.
  • Verify compliance with export licences and authorisations, including French MG and BDU licences and applicable US ITAR and EAR requirements.
  • Obtain, review and maintain customer certificates, end-user documentation and supporting compliance records required for export-controlled transactions.
  • Manage product, technology and technical data classification activities under applicable export control regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage Export Control Certificates in collaboration with Procurement, Supply Chain and other relevant departments.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases and compliance documentation, ensuring full traceability, audit readiness and regulatory reporting compliance.
  • Prepare, analyse and monitor export control reports, compliance metrics and key performance indicators, including MG and BDU reporting requirements.
  • Conduct compliance assessments and support internal and external audits relating to export control and international trade compliance activities.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees and internal stakeholders regarding export control obligations, licensing requirements and compliance procedures.
  • Support Sales, Business Development, Programme Management, Procurement and Operations teams by assessing export control implications associated with business opportunities, contracts and international transactions.
  • Identify compliance risks and contribute to the continuous improvement of export control processes, tools and governance across the organisation.
  • Contribute to the assessment and enhancement of export control maturity across subsidiaries and entities within the Exosens Group.
  • Liaise with customs authorities, regulatory agencies and external partners to ensure the efficient and compliant management of import and export activities.
Your profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, business, logistics or a generalist programme
  • Significant experience in the field of compliance
  • High level of English and Spanish. French would be a plus
  • Interest in issues relating to regulatory compliance
  • Specific IT tools required for the role, good command of Excel
  • Confidentiality rules relating to the sector
