Adaptive Optics loop installation on the Zeus 3 Petawatt laser beamline

The PHASICS SID4 wavefront sensor and OASys software control the 12 inch (300 mm) mechanical deformable mirror (manufactured by ISP System). This system will be installed after the 3 Petawatt compressor on the beamline delivering the gas target chamber. The ultimate goal is to correct and optimize the focal spot quality to achieve the highest intensities on target.
