The Helitron detection platform builds on the proven principles of Scintitron, maintaining signal conversion and optical decoupling for superior performance. Like Scintitron, ions are converted into secondary electrons, but Helitron takes it further by introducing a magnetic field that precisely directs these electrons to the scintillating screen. This innovation prevents ions from striking the scintillator, dramatically extending its lifetime. The photons generated by the scintillator are then captured by a high-sensitivity photon sensor, delivering a clean and reliable electrical signal for accurate detection.
