The Senior Local Purchasing Specialist will take full ownership of the assigned material and services portfolio, developing and executing purchasing strategies that drive cost efficiency, risk mitigation, supplier performance, and innovation. This role requires strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset, representing the company externally with credibility and professionalism.

Minimizing supply chain risks and ensuring continuity of supply.

Driving procurement best practices across the European organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
Develop and implement short- and long-term category strategies for direct and critical indirect materials and services.
Take full ownership of supplier portfolio, including identification, evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and development.
Build strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers, ensuring alignment with company objectives and growth plans.
Drive supplier performance improvement programs, including KPIs, audits, ratings, and corrective actions.
Ensure second-source strategies for critical components and services.
Collaboration & Internal Engagement
Work closely with Supply Chain to obtain forecast and demand information, enabling proactive and informed sourcing decisions.
Support R&D and Engineering teams during New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring supply readiness and compliance with specifications.
Be informed by and follow up with Group Purchasing on global category strategies, group deals, and synergy projects to ensure proper application.
Support daily procurement operations, mentoring procurement team members and sharing best practices.
Engage constructively with internal stakeholders: Supply Chain, Quality, Planning, Manufacturing, Legal, and Finance.
External Representation & Leadership
Serve as the company’s primary representative with suppliers, demonstrating high-quality communication, professionalism, and credibility.
Lead negotiations for pricing, contracts, and terms to maximize value and reduce risk.
Act as the first escalation point for supplier or supply chain issues, proactively mitigating risks.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
7–10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supplier management, preferably in electronics, sensors, or high-tech manufacturing.
Proven expertise in supplier negotiation, contract management, and pricing strategy.
Experience working in international and multi-cultural environments.
Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
